About Us
Second Chances Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit program founded in 2009 for the purpose creating sober living / transitional housing centers for people who are new in recovery. For individuals that complete alcohol and drug treatment programs, safe, affordable and most importantly alcohol/ drug-free housing is scarce.
Second Chances currently operates two centers allowing 38 women and men a place to live while embarking on a new start in life. Each facility has a manager that is there to provide assistance and guidance. Basic rules are in place to create a safe environment and to encourage and allow the freedom to work, cook meals, own a car and attend to other essential needs.
Individuals that benefit from this type of housing usually have just completed a residential treatment program, are just starting a new job, may need public transportation, but first and foremost need a safe drug -free place to live. Housing is one of the most important aspects to someone new in recovery. Second Chances provides an environment where people who are living in the same facility share the same common goal - to turn their life around. This community support lowers the risk of relapse and is another important aspect of our program. Too often, those recovering from addiction successfully complete a treatment program only to return to the same home and / or environment that contributed to their alcohol or drug abuse. Living in a Second Chances center provides individuals the opportunity to learn to live outside the structure of a rehabilitation program and still maintain their alcohol or drug free lifestyle. Services are provided to individuals without regard to economic situation, race, sexual orientation, social or religious affiliation.
